I thought it unusual that the game Catherine, of all things, was asking the player this exact question. Hey, it wondered aloud, are you a human being? Finally, I thought to myself, a turing test that even I can pass. Or so I thought. It turns out that more than half of the players asked each proclaimed (proudly, I am assuming. (the smug bastards.)) that they were not, in fact, perverts. Unfortunately, the game failed or refused to expound on this any further. I had hoped that the next question might be “Are you playing Catherine?” (good luck with that one seekers of the “good” answer.) Maybe the other players thought they were playing Intelligent Qube? Maybe they were some how blocking out the wonderful in betweens and the almost seamless anime bits. I don’t know, and I’ll probably never know. Granted, there are more questions in the game than there are moments for the game to ask them. One of them very well could be “Why are you lying to us?”, but I doubt it. It already has enough on its plate with relationships and life and living life to its fullest with relationships.
